The Road to Hotel Zed | Kelowna Photographer

When we chatted with Hotel Zed about using their shuttle for the shoot, yes this is their real shuttle, we imagined colour and lots of it! Colour is what we did! Say hello to our 1960’s mod inspired “Road to Hotel Zed” photo shoot! What can I say about this shoot besides absolutely amazing! We got to channel our inner Twiggy and Jane Birkin for this super fun shoot with Hotel Zed. Kudos to Robyn of Perch Travelling Boutique for introducing me to one of the Kelowna managers, and for having the perfect outfits to style this shoot.

The 1960’s had so much to offer the world, from messages of peace and love to shortened hemlines. One of our favourite 1960’s moments was the “mod” movement, which brought forward tailored suits and bright colours aplenty. Amanda & Nicole of Glenmore Hair Studio killed it with the hair, followed by Anna of OMG Okanagan Makeup Goddess knocking it out of the park with this makeup! When we arrived on location, I was so thrilled when the Hotel Zed shuttle rounded the corner! This vintage 1961 Chevy Greenbrier was amazing! All put together, we’re wild about the results of this shoot!

Robyn | Kelowna Vintage Portrait Photographer

If you know me, or follow my photography, you have probably heard me mention the name Perch Travelling Boutique. It all started 2 years ago when Robyn and I met to brainstorm ideas for shoots to create over a glass of wine. Last year I had mentioned to her that she should get in front of the camera wearing her vintage styles, with some hesitation, she agreed! Unfortunately, the weather didn’t.

As soon as spring rolled around this year, I knew we had to bring this vision to life, with Robyn modelling. We planned the shoot, set the date arranged hair and make-up and on the day we were set to shoot, the weather was all over the place. Lucky for us, it cleared up just enough to make for gorgeous light and a wicked backdrop.

I will be posting Robyn’s gorgeous vintage portrait session in two parts because there are so many amazing photos. With 2 very different outfits, it was hard to narrow down just a few. (STAY TUNED!)

Amanda & Adam | UBC Kelowna Wedding

Amanda & Adam booked their wedding photography with me while living in a different province. That means, our first meeting was there engagement photos at the end of August, check them out here. After meeting them for the engagement photos, I knew their wedding was going to be a lot of fun.

Amanda and Adam decided the best place for them to get married was the place they met and had their first dates! *swoon* How cute is that?! So their wedding ceremony was held at UBC in Kelowna in the main courtyard by the fountain. As the ceremony was approaching, so did the rain. With a last minute adjustment the ceremony began.

Words cannot describe how classically beautiful Amanda looked amongst the fall colours. Of course, Adam was looking handsome as well. The rain allowed us to take some very cool photos inside the Fipke building. Finally the rain let up and we ventured out to take advantage of the fall colours surrounding the courtyard.

I showed up to the reception, Ellison Hall, and was blown away by the party that went down! From the shoe game, to a photo booth, to the photo booth props hitting the dance floor…. everyone was there to have fun!

This was my last wedding of the year and it was the perfect way to end a year. Amazing couple, gorgeous fall colours and a super fun reception!

Once Adam had signed the papers and was officially married to Amanda, he was one happy man. I absolutely love this photo!

Adam’s sisters had the best speech! Complete with props from his childhood! Hands down, best speech to date!
